DONATIONS NEEDED URGENTLY
NWSPCA is in real need for donations for our charity shop at Pearse Street, Ballina, Mayo.
We are looking for your unwanted clothing, shoes, handbags, bric-a-brac and furniture. If you have anything you can let us have we really would appreciate it. Money raised in the shop is vital to the operation of our charity. Like many charities, at the moment, we are in desperate need of funds and every penny raised helps us to rescue and save unloved, unwanted or abused animals.
Thank you everyone for your support - we cannot do what we do without your help.

Who we are:
The NWSPCA was officially established in 2002, although it has been less formally working in Ballina and its surrounding areas for over 10 years. We are a non-profit charity, manned entirely by volunteers and are constantly working to promote animal welfare in the North West. We have rescued, vaccinated and re-homed thousands of dogs and cats and our neutering programme has prevented thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens being born.
We not only rescue domestic animals, but also offer assistance to horses, goats, hedgehogs, birds, donkeys and have also helped a pig! Any creature known to be in distress is never overlooked by us.
Our Mission
* To develop our animal shelter
* To provide a low cost neutering clinic
Financially the NWSPCA depends totally on fundraising, sponsorship and our charity shop at Pearse Street, Ballina, County Mayo.
As you may imagine, the running cost for such endeavours is rather steep. It costs 100K a year to keep things going. We constantly find ourselves under serious financial pressure; with our biggest expense being veterinary fees.
FOSTERERS NEEDED
We are always looking for potential fosterers - maybe for a cat/kittens, dogs, mother and pups, pups on their own, a rescue animal needing recuperation after an operation, a donkey/pony or a goat. All bedding, food and cages (if required) supplied. Up to four weeks old a mother and her pups are no trouble whatsoever, all they need is a warm place and plenty of food for mother.
Fostering is very rewardable, as you see the progress of the animal on a daily basis.
We are looking for people who can commit to fostering for one week, minimum. And then, whatever timespan that may suit after that.
For our dogs, we are looking for a foster home where the dog will sleep indoors, get exercise, have a secure outdoor area.
For our cats, we are looking for a contained area for them to be kept in.
PLEASE seriously think about fostering, - it is not a long term commitment - it does not cost you anything and you can choose the length of time that suits you.
By fostering, you can hugely help reduce our costs, as the majority of our animals have to be boarded, which is a huge drain on our very limited resources.
If you feel that you could be a potential fosterer or would like more details please email us at enquirynwspca@gmail.com
FUNDRAISING VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Can you help with any aspect of fundraising because, as with most charities, the current economic recession has really hit us really hard. We have more animals than ever in need of care and re-homing. If you could run an event or can help us in any way raise much needed funds, then please contact us on 096-76649 or email us at enquirynwspca@gmail.com
Thank you for visiting our website, please take your time and browse. We certainly would welcome any comments or feedback that you might like to offer us.
