Good News
Poppy, Nancy, Betty, Roger & Rose
Nancy (mother) had three puppies Poppy, Betty, Roger and Rose. The pup Poppy (above) was born completely blind. Yet this did not hold her back. She loved to play with her brother and sisters and she found her way around with big floppy footsteps. within two or three weeks she could easily find her way around. Rose and Roger are now re-homed happily. Poppy and Nancy are also living together in a caring home. (Her family are below)

Judy's Story
Judy for is one of our special dog – she was found straying on the streets of Ballina in a very undernourished terrified condition last - she was taken in by someone for a few weeks but this person was no longer able to look after her. When Judy came to her new foster home we thought she was approx ten months old but after a check with our vet it transpired that she was only about four months so was still only babe.
She got on extremely well with another foster dog, we tried to rehome them together but could not find anyone to take the two of them and eventually the terrier was rehomed. Judy missed the terrier greatly and developed what the fosterer could only describe as agressive tendencies - major fights with other dogs in the home, tail chasing, tearing things to shreds constantly on guard. She was eventually brought to Dog Training Ireland where she was assessed by an animal behaviourist who discovered that she had no confidence whatsoever, was totally insecure, became overwhelmed with new situations and reacted by barking lunging etc.
Eventually Judy found her forever home in Sweden with a lovely family who think the world of her as can be seen from the pics she is enjoying agility and generally being in a one dog family. Big hughs to Judy from all of us.
Jess
Jess is a lovely gentle Irish Collie who had suffered a hip injury and after long and slow veterinarian treatment and with lots of care and attention from her foster family made a full recovery, and was able to be re homed with a lovely couple who have welcomed her into their family, she is brought for long walk in the forest near to her new home, her new owners are so delighted with her and as you can see from this photo we would say that she is delighted with them. Have a happy life Jess and enjoy your walks in the woods for a long, long time to come.

Boris
Boris is a super dog and was abandoned and found straying but thanks to the vigilance of a member of the public we were contacted and Boris was rescued form the pound and death. Boris is a larger than life character both physically and in character. Boris has found a new home with people who can care for and meet his needs. This story has a happy ending however not all stories do and we would advice people before they "purchase" a dog to put a lot of thought into it and be sure that you are capable of looking after them. We advise the public not to rush into pet ownership to give it a lot of thought , as all animals have needs that they depend on us to meet, and remember a pet is for life which in some cases can last up to twenty years. Boris's story has a happy ending but all do not. HAVE A NICE LIFE BORIS FROM NWSPCA
Sarah
Sarah is a beautiful kind and gentle dog, and was found abandoned in the middle of a boggy area in a terrible state, she had a such terrible ear infection that she could not even lift her head, she was grossly malnourished and her coat was matted and infected. But all that was three months ago we are now happy to report that Sarah has found a loving family to take care of her, which is no more that she is entitled to. Through your generous support Sarah will have a long and happy life with her new family.
Christy
Christy was knocked down in Westport and was left for dead by an uncaring motorist at the side of the road, he suffered horrendous injuries to his back leg which required major surgery, following this it took a long time for Christy to recover to full health, during which time he was cared for by a foster family. Christy has a lovely personality and loves company and cuddles. Thankfully Christy has now made a full recovery and has been re homed with a caring family who have given Christy a new home where he will get the care and attention that he deserves.
